On 31 October 2023 the 3rd Sino-Swiss Sustainability Forum took place at the Swiss Re Centre for Global Dialogue (CGD) in Zurich. Over 100 participants from corporates, research institutions and government bodies met and exchanged insights and best practices. A particular focus was led on public private partnerships for Green Finance, Smart Water Management and Sustainable Cities for cross-sector and international collaborations for sustainable development.
A key take away from the conference was that the global sustainability challenge cannot be solved by any one country or organization. International collaboration and cross-sector cooperation are essential.
The conference was organized by Swiss Re Institute, together with the Swiss-Chinese Association, the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), and other partners including the Holinger International Consultants / Swiss Water and the LEP Consultants AG.
The first conference took place in Jinan in 2017 and the second one was also carried out at Swiss Re CGD in a mostly virtual form during the covid pandemic in 2021. This time Chinese delegations with 53 delegates from 11 provinces and municipalities participated at the forum.
